Dealling With Cellulite

Cellulite is a major worry of women around the world. Either they are worried about actually having it or they are worried that they might develop it. Although it is far from being a medical condition and will certainly never kill you, women hate cellulite because it is ugly. Women love the idea of being about to wear short skirts and shorts but when they look in the mirror at their lumpy bumpy skin they feel terrible about it. Although there is no magic cure for cellulite there are some measures that can be taken to help prevent or reduce the appearance. However these steps are not necessarily easy.

We all know what cellulite looks like and that it occurs on the hips, abdomen and buttocks. Although mostly associated with women, cellulite does occur in a small percentage of men too. The intensity of cellulite will vary enormously from very mild to very severe. Basically it’s just the fat deposits showing through the epidermis.

Cellulite normally only becomes a problem until a girl is going through puberty as this is a time of big hormonal change. Her body’s hormones are sending out signals for fat to be produced within the subcutaneous layer.

Obviously wearing clothes will ensure that people don’t see your cellulite however you don’t always want to be covered head to toe in clothes. Especially in hotter weather when you want to change into swimwear or dresses. Because cosmetic companies know how much women hate cellulite they produce vast number of products that claim to be able to help. These product can range in price enormously from very affordable to ridiculously expensive. Debates are to whether any of these products actually work are still ongoing. Most trials show that there is either little or no results to be had with such creams and potions.

Instead it’s generally said that the best way to help with cellulite is simply to try out some different types of exercise. By exercising you will be able to reduce the size of the fat cells so they don’t bulge out giving that typical cellulite appearance. I don't know if hula hoop exercises will work but it's worth a try. In addition to exercising eating a range of healthy foods such as fruit, vegetables and whole grains will help too. And unlike the cellulite creams, not only will you be reducing cellulite, you’ll also be gaining a healthier and fitter you.

There are many different types of exercise you might want to try out such as weight lifting, running, jogging, cycling and also using an elliptical trainer. Other treatments that you might want to consider are massage and using a machine called a power plate. But please, don't starve yourself thinking that you are going to lose massive amounts of fat and cellulite. This is not a healthy way to live at all. But losing weight will help a lot.
